What Is The Gospel of Jesus Christ?
ANSWER: The Gospel of Jesus Christ is the same as the bible plan of salvation and the bible plan of salvation is how a person finds forgiveness of his sins, becomes born again and a new creation in Christ. This person turns frim sins, abandoning them through repententance and prayer to live in a new holy life. If you are a pedophil if you continue commiting this sin then you are not a christian! There are no christian pedophiles, christian killers, christian thieves, christian swindlers, christian immoral men, christian drunkards and christian smokers! If you still commit these sins, then you are not a christian but an unbeliever!
People who have repented (and become Christians) are described as follows:
Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the sinful nature with its passions and desires. Such people die for sins daily to live a holy life.
To turn from your wickedness, which is dragging you to hell, and to wisely chose to submissively place Jesus' yoke on yourself to follow and serve him is equated to believing on Jesus. This is also the same as getting born again. When a person is born again, he is born again to start a new holy life. He is forgiven of all of his sins and set free from the sin addictions he was a slave to.
Getting born again occurs at the point of a trusting-and-submitting faith in Jesus for personal salvation. All 100% of our trust must be in mankind's only Savior, who is Jesus, to have salvation. Again, Jesus must be the focus of our faith. (Many have, unfortunately, been deceived into lethally trusting church membership, water baptism, Mary, Saturday Sabbath keeping, Lodge membership, wearing the brown scapular, etc., for salvation. Some others are trusting in Jesus partly and in someone else or some other thing also for their salvation. They also have been dangerously misled.)
VERY IMPORTANT: The Bible refers to the term salvation, or a derivative of it, such as saved, in two different ways. At times it is used in reference to initial salvation and at other times for final salvation. (Initial salvation refers to the point of getting saved or being born again while final salvation refers to an actual entrance into God's kingdom after physical death.)
Someone asked him, “Lord, are only a few people going to be saved?” He said to them, “Make every effort to enter through the narrow door, because many, I tell you, will try to enter and will not be able to”.
In this passage, Jesus answered the question about being saved by mentioning entering through the kingdom doors. He also stated we will need personal effort to get in. This is Jesus' teaching, not mine or some other Christian's. That is part of his plan of salvation. Jesus taught an instant salvation through repenting and submissively trusting in himself for salvation, but also taught a continuous effort on man's part (to stay spiritually alive, living a holy life) to enter God's kingdom doors. You can fall from grace (Galatians 5:2-4), shipwreck your faith in Jesus, become immoral, impure and greedy.
You should endure to the end through persecution which will come because of godly living, hold firm to the end of your life and remain faithful to Jesus until death.
Between initial and final salvation, there are many spiritual dangers that can interfere with and even curtail your following/believing in Jesus and salvation such as: persecutions, cares of this life, pleasures of this life, becoming and staying lukewarm, not producing good fruit, becoming unforgiving and even through lust and hatred that can creep in..
Many people that do get Biblically born again later (during their long distance spiritual race) die spiritually or become lost again by backsliding.
There are at least 18 Biblical examples of the named and unnamed people that did fall away from their salvation due to certain sins, believing/teaching a false gospel and or by disowning Jesus during persecution.
For if you live according to the sinful nature, you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the misdeeds of the body, you will live.
The acts of the sinful nature are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery; idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like. I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God.
Remember, to enter God's kingdom after death one must become Biblically born again and at the end of his life die in a spiritually saved and holy condition, which does not always happen. Some of the righteous have lethally backslid, temporarily lost their salvation for a time and later returned to God (like David and Peter), while others haven't (like Solomon; Judas).
Remember Jesus described real Christians as those that hear God's word and put it into practice, they do not have the dead faith with no deeds but they have the holy life, they die daily for sins, they just do not commit sins, they have self control, they serve God and people, they are not smokers/ drunkards or drug addicts or porn watchers but they are holy sons of God. This is christianity. Your faith is dead without such a holy life! You live in self deception! And you do not inherit the Kingdom of God. Amen
