Great humility from the holder of authority
We always see before us men of power, the rich, the greats in science and knowledge, and the kings of the earth who sit on imaginary thrones made by human hands, looking at the common people with a look of arrogance and inferiority. They hold within their sleeve the weapon of power, money, and greatness, so they impose their opinion on others and move everything around them according to their mood. Their logic is always, unfortunately, not the best for others.
What consoles and rejoices is that there is a God sitting on the throne who has power, authority, and greatness, as the Holy Bible describes him as the Great King: “And in the midst of the seven lampstands one like the Son of Man, clothed with a garment down to the feet, and girded about his breast with a girdle of gold, and as for his head and hair, they were white as white wool as snow, and his eyes as flames of fire, and his feet He is like pure brass, as if they were heated in a furnace, and his voice was like the sound of many waters” (Revelation 1:13). He is able to preserve all, strengthen and attract all, and His nature is unparalleled, full of overwhelming and wonderful holiness and overflowing love that dazzles the eyes. It is like a bright light that shines in darkness. Hearts far away and wounded by the curse and rebellion of this land.
How wonderful is the image of this God when we find Him humble, entering Jerusalem, riding on a colt, walking among the crowds of the world, looking at them with compassion, love, tenderness, and great concern. He touches the foreheads of some and holds the hands of the weak, and finds within them a great cry of pain from all the worries and tragedies of life surrounding them, and they When they met him, they raised their voices in the loudest voices, rejoicing in him and rejoicing in his humble entry, “saying, Blessed is the King who comes in the name of the Lord. Peace in heaven and glory in the highest” (Luke 19:38).
If we delve into the Holy Bible, we find a second picture that surprises us about the extent of the Lord’s humility, as He gathered with the disciples, specifically before Easter, when He knew that His hour had come for Him to bear all our transgressions and sins on the cross. While they were having dinner, Jesus rose and, with all humility and without favoritism, took off his clothes and called. The disciples in order to wash their feet from the dirt and dust of the roads that they used to take in his daily service, as they moved from one city to another and walked long distances (The disciples were astonished by this confusing situation. “He got up from dinner, took off his clothes, took a towel, and wrapped himself around it. Then he poured water into a basin and began to wash his feet.” disciples and wiped her with the towel with which he was girded” (John 4:13.
These are small examples of the extent of the humility of the All-Powerful One who knows all things. We must also learn how to come down from the throne of our pride in order to learn to humble ourselves and submit under the umbrella of God and through Christ, who loved us and offered Himself as a true sacrifice on the cross, hanging between earth and heaven. Do we accept it?
