Jesus is King
Many kings have succeeded throughout history, and each of them has a story and an incident. Some were faithful to the throne and to their people, and they were the minority, and others were tyrants who did not care about anything in life except to remain steadfast and firm on the throne of the king, in order to fill their hidden hatred for everyone, or to rejoice in their cruelty to their people, and they were the majority. But in the end they all died, as history reminds of them from time to time with some words, whether praise or satire.
But there is Someone who came about 2000 years ago and brought about a radical and distinctive change in the path of life. This is because He dealt with the spiritual matters and the problems buried in the human heart that relate to sin and eternal matters. He is the one who has the true privilege to be King,
Master and Lord over the hearts of everyone. He is Jesus Christ. The Holy Bible described him with the most beautiful words, “And on his garment and on his thigh he has a name written King of kings and Lord of lords” (Revelation 19:16), and one of the most wonderful of his royal attributes is that He is eternal.
An eternal King: “But you, O Bethlehem Ephrathah, though you are little among the clans of Judah, from you will come for me one who will be ruler over Israel, whose origins are from of old, from ancient times.” (Micah 5:2). This is the true King that deserves to be talked about, and that we would remain silent. His eternity and his existence before all things is a voice crying out about the greatness of this distinguished King, for He is the reason for His own existence, and when Moses asked him, “What is your name?” “And God said to Moses, ‘I am who I am,’” (Exodus 13:3), or Yahovah. Jesus is the King who deserves to raise his name above all others. The Son of God Jesus has the same name like His Father: Yahovah. Yes, they both have this devine name as we read in the Torah of the Holy Bible.
Jesus is the living King: “...Do not be afraid. I am the first and the last. I am the living. I was dead, and behold, I live forever. Amen, and I have the keys of hell and death” (Revelation 1:17). Everyone was buried in the grave, and everyone was decomposed, and nothing remained of them, but Christ who died and did not One of his bones was broken, as the Bible said. He himself rose on the third day, victorious over the strongest enemy death and victorious over the forces of hell. He surprised the disciples as they gathered together. “And when it was the evening of that day, which was the first of the week, and the doors were closed, as the disciples had gathered for fear of the Jews, Jesus came and stood in the middle, he said, “Peace be upon you” (John 19:20). His resurrection gave freshness to everyone, as it provided a wonderful seal on the credibility of Christ’s words, for He is the living King who is sitting now at the right hand of the Father, interceding for us.
Jesus reigned with authority: “...all authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me” (Matthew 14:27). He is the one who spoke a word and created everything from nothing. Yes, the Son of God is our Creator! He is the one who cried out to Eliezer, come out, and Eliezer rose from the dead. He is the one who stopped the raging sea with a word from his mouth, and with His awesome authority. He offered forgiveness to everyone who comes to Him with repentance and faith. How great is His authority, for it exceeds our logic and thinking. He is the King who holds all things by the word of His power, and He is the One who manages all matters and the universe. He alone deserves prostration and worship. Truly, He is the King of kings and the Lord of lords. Amen
