Greetings in Jesus' holy name and welcome to our Internet Bible Study.
In the dark and apostate day an online internet Bible Study has many advantages, especially if it a sound bible-based one. Remember 2 Tim. 3:16,17
and MAKE YOUR LIFE COUNT for God!
All scripture (of the Holy Bible) is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.
Note: We study the words of God to be instructed in righteousness to be people of God who are perfect snd doing good works of righteousness!
Yes, the Holy Bible is about righteousness only!
A Bible Study with us is one of the last ways now to find God's truth taught. Why? Because now, at the end of this age, the typical churches are filled with false doctrine and sin. It is very difficult to find a church teaching a sound doctrine! American apostate churches are full of filth and heresies and they impact churches all over the world. There is a definite famine for the word of God. Hopefully, the teachings here will bless and encourage you as you seek God's truth, as cited in the Bible. Be a part of the global organisation called the Church of God! Be a Church of God in Afghanistan, Pakistan, Iran and the Central Asia. Spread the word so others can be instructed too.
Do you think that you are a Christian? Does this describe YOU - a real Christian?
You have been set free from sin and have become slaves to righteousness. (Rom 6:18)
Are you a slave of righteousness? Are you doing what is right no matter if you want that or not? Do you obey God first of this evil world? Is your life filled with righteous deeds or holy actions?
I (Jesus) have given them your word and the world has hated them, for they are not of the world any more than I am of the world. (John 17:14)
Christians are EAGER TO DO what is right (Titus 2:14) and HAVE BEEN SET FREE FROM SIN'S ADDICTIONS (by sincere repentance of their sins- Rom. 6:6,7) and are now SLAVES OF RIGHTEOUSNESS (Rom. 6:18; 6:22). Christians follow their PRECIOUS Lord Jesus (Jn. 10:27), doing the will of God (Lk. 8:21) as they deny themselves and take up their crosses daily (Lk. 9:23). Their life-giving "gospel" message includes a CONDITIONAL security for the believer in Christ (1 Cor. 15:2; Col. 1:23):
They warn the righteous that they can die spiritually by turning to evil, they declare the vital need for Christians to REMAIN FAITHFUL TO THE "POINT OF DEATH" in order to get the crown of life and to avoid the lake of fire, as Jesus himself taught after the cross. Moreover, the Lord taught the Apostles that they would have to endure hatred to the end to be saved and that if they disowned Jesus, Jesus would, in turn, disown them. Jude stated that the grace changers (who are the eternal security teachers of our day) are ungodly (Jude 4) and that we Christians are commanded to contend against their destructive teachings (Jude 3). See also Heb. 3:14; etc. which also shows that salvation can be lost and that we must hold on (Revelation 3:11).
Jesus was not only a Prophet but He was a Lawgiver like His Father. He changed or calcelled some laws of God: 1) stoning was canceled. 2) diatery laws were not applicable to Christians. 3) observation of laws like the Sabbath is cancelled. 4) circumcision for christians is canceled and forbidden. But Jesus gave us many new laws/commands to implement. Lets consider them now:
The Sermon on the Mount is the most famous sermon Jesus ever gave, perhaps the most famous sermon ever given by anyone. Words of this Sermon are very deep, penetrating deeply into our spirit, changing and transforming us to know God and obey Him.
The Sermon on the Mount covers several different topics:
Now when Jesus saw the crowds, he went up on a mountainside and sat down. His disciples came to him, and he began to teach them.
Matthew 5:3-12 - The Beatitudes
He said:
“Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted.
Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth.
Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled.
Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy.
Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God.
Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God.
Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.“Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me. Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven, for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you.
What do we see here? Jesus says here: if we are poor, we will inherit the Kingdom of God. We should be meek, hungry and thirsty for righteousness, merciful snd forgiving all, pure in heart, peacemakers. We should be ready for persecution because of our faith and righteousness, insults because all holy prophets were suffering like that. If we will obey these commands, we will inherit the Kingdom of God because such people are called christians or sons of God and heirs of God.
Matthew 5:13-16 - Salt and Light
“You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled underfoot.
“You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.
Jesus said here that our righteousness should be like sault and light shining into this evil world. That people could see our good deeds or the holy life because this world needs such holy people. Such holy people are like a shining city built on a hill that could not be hidden. But you can lose your righteousness. How then you could be righteous again!? You will be no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled under foot. Jesus warns here about apostasy, heresies, falling away from faith, dying in sins.
