HEAVEN AND THE HOLY CITY, THE NEW JERUSALEM!
"And I saw a new heaven, and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were gone, and the sea was no more. And I John saw the holy city,
New Jerusalem, descending from heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned
for her husband..." Revelation chapter 21, 22.
What will be there?
■ Eternal joy and joy—sorrow and mourning will flee (Isa. 35:10).
■ Song, praise, and worship to God (Rev. 5:9-14; 19:1-8),
■ There will be no more death, mourning, crying, pain, cursing, darkness, or evil (Rev. 20:10; 21:4; 22:1-5). There will be no need for hospitals, police, prisons, cemeteries or ambulances.
■ There will be perfect peace in the animal kingdom during the millennial kingdom (Isa. 11:6-9).
■ New heavens and new earth (Isa. 65:17; 66:22; 2 Pet. 3:13; Rev. 21:1).
■ The New Jerusalem will be made of pure gold, measuring approximately 1,400 to 1,500 miles high, long and wide, it will have walls of jasper, streets of gold, and gates of pearl that will never be closed (Rev. 21:15-27). The architect and builder of the Holy City will be God himself (Heb. 11:10). There will be no need for the sun or the moon to give light “for the Lamb is his light” (Rev. 21:23; 22:5). The river of the water of life, the tree of life, and the throne of God and the Lamb will be in the city (Rev. 22:1-5).
■ “Gain” and “far superior” compared to this life (Phil. 1:21,23).
■ Prepared for those who love God (James 2:5) or the righteous (Mt. 25:34-40).
How Can YOU Go to Heaven When You Die?
■ By grace alone, not by works (Eph. 2:8,9).
■ Go directly and sincerely to Jesus Christ, as did the thief who found forgiveness (Luke 23:42,43 cf. Jn. 5:39,40). God knows his heart, so he must be sincere.
■ Love Jesus Christ more than his parents, husband or wife, children, brothers, sisters, and even his own life (Mt. 10:37; Luke 14:26). Jesus Christ said, “Unless he abandons all that he has, he cannot be my disciple” (Luke 14:33).
■ Deny yourself, take up his cross daily and follow him (Luke 9:23).
■ he Be willing to die physically for Jesus Christ if necessary (Mt. 10:39; Luke 17:33; Rev. 12:11).
■ Persist in doing good so that God will grant you eternal life (Rom. 2:7).
■ Sow to the Spirit and you will reap eternal life (Gal. 6:8,9).
■ Obey Him because He is the source of eternal salvation for all who obey Him (Heb. 5:9).
■ Live for Christ now (Phil. 1:21).
■ He who has the Son, he has life; He who does not have the Son of God, he does not have life (1 Jn. 5:12).
How Important is YOUR Salvation?
Eternal life is more important than money, than any love relationship, than friends, fame, popularity, power or winning the whole world. Do not sell your soul for these things (Mark 8:36). YOUR SALVATION IS AS IMPORTANT AS ETERNITY IS LONG! His faithfulness to Christ now (or his unfaithfulness) will affect him for the next hundred years and for all eternity. Many people have had to spend time in prison, have lost their jobs, their husbands or wives, friends, family, material possessions, their own lives, etc. to obtain or retain salvation. You may have to pay the same price before your life, which is like a “test or examination,” is over (Rev. 2:10,11)! YOU ARE BATTLEING FOR ETERNITY—for your eternal soul and those of others! Go to God on His terms and remain faithful to Him. It is the most important thing you will do in this life. Jesus Christ said, “Strive to enter through the narrow gate; for I tell you that many will try to enter and will NOT be able to” (Luke 13:24). Keep yourself pure (1 Tim. 5:22), separate from idols (1 John 5:21), from the pollution of the world (James 1:27), and avoid all kinds of evil (1 Thes. 5:22). ). Do not give so much importance to the things of this world, because they are all temporary. Resist the temptation to sin. STAY ON GUARD AGAINST FALSE TEACHERS (Jehovah's Witnesses, Mormons, ecumenical leaders, etc.). Also, don't accept everything you hear on Christian TV, on the radio, in Christian pulpits or books! Much of what is taught through these channels is partly true and partly FALSE. SOME TEACHINGS ARE PURE POISON FOR YOUR SOUL. Check everything you hear or read against Scripture, taking it in context. If it is not found in the Bible, reject it! Compare Scripture with Scripture and consider everything the Bible says on the subject. Look for a good, reliable, and easy-to-read Bible translation. STUDY IT YOURSELF. Do not blindly trust the interpretations of others.
Jesus Christ said, “My mother and my brothers are those who hear the Word of God and obey it” (Luke 8:21). The Apostle Paul said, “Those who belong to Christ have crucified their sinful nature with its passions and desires” (Gal. 5:24). Those [who actually enter the kingdom are described as “His called, His chosen, and FAITHFUL FOLLOWERS” (Rev. 17:14). Do not deny him, or He will deny you (Mt. 10:33 cf. Luke 12: 4,5). See 2 Pet. 1:5-10. Read, meditate, memorize and ACT ON THE SCRIPTURES, especially the New Testament!
